Do you have an idea for a project that can make a difference to your local community?

The West Devon Communities Together Fund (formerly Town and Parish/TAP Fund) is jointly funded by Devon County Council and West Devon Borough Council.

The aim of the Communities Together Fund is to encourage communities to work together; identifying new ideas for their mutual benefit. Applications are welcome from community projects benefiting, enhancing and making a difference to communities.

Town and Parish Councils, registered charities, constituted voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises based within West Devon are all eligible to apply.

Types of community project applications which would be welcomed under the Communities Together Fund include:

  • Reducing social exclusion / increasing social inclusion,
  • Improving community capacity, cohesion and connectedness,
  • Reducing loneliness and/or isolation across and between all ages,
  • Improving community safety, promoting good citizenship and kindness / reducing anti-social and criminal behaviour,
  • Tackling inequality and poverty,
  • Encouraging life-long learning and development / improving productivity and prosperity,
  • Encouraging and increasing volunteering and employment prospects and opportunities,
  • Improving physical, mental and emotional health and well-being,
  • Improving living conditions / tackling homelessness,
  • Improving people’s ability to connect with each other and places; either physically and/or virtually (e.g. digitally),
  • Promoting  arts, culture and heritage, where demonstrating to improve local health and wellbeing,
  • Protecting and improving Devon’s natural environment and resources.

The list is not exhaustive and any application would need to meet the criteria within the guidelines.
