Hatherleigh Town Council are currently exploring a deal with Kingswood Homes to lease and ultimately acquire the new pannier market site and car park for the town to properly secure its future.
A working group with a diverse range of skills has been set up at the request of Hatherleigh Town Council to look at the business case, legal negotiations, and grant funding opportunities to go ahead with such a scheme.
The new market building is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2024.
